My creative works have been published by Poetry Ireland Review, The Honest Ulsterman, bath magg, Crossways, nether Quarterly, Headstuff and others. Recipient of the UCD Maeve Binchy Travel Award 2020 and Cill Rialaig Residency 2020. Under the banner ‘Literary Curator’, started a newsletter for publishing industry news and views from March 2021. Completed Masters in Creative Writing from the University College, Dublin in November 2020.
Sree Sen is from Mumbai, India and lives and works in the West of Ireland and Dublin city. She is currently a part of the Skein Press team – an independent publishing house that aims to discover, support, and publish writers whose voices are not otherwise heard – as the Digital Content Specialist.
In 2021, Sree received theAgility Award from the Irish Arts Council of Ireland to work on her poems. She is also the recipient of the inaugural UCD Maeve Binchy Travel Award, 2020 and of a Cill Rialaig Artist’s Residency, 2020.
Her poems have so far been published in Poetry Ireland Review #131, The Honest Ulsterman, Bath Magg, Crossways, Nether Quarterly and in Headstuff.
Sree graduated with an MA in Creative Writing, University College Dublin, 2020 specialising in poetry under the thesis supervision of poet, Julie Morrissy. Her yet unpublished debut crime novel, Retribution is represented for screen rights by Sidharth Jain of The Story Ink in Mumbai.
While currently working on her debut chapbook of poetry, Sree is also a creative writing teacher and workshop facilitator. She recently held the Irish Writer’s Centre course, ‘Beyond Languages’, which aimed to empower writers from a broad range of diverse backgrounds whose other language is English.
Prior to this, Sree worked as a professional journalist in Mumbai for over ten years researching, writing and delivering a wide variety of news articles for a number of publications and outlets, including: Times of India, DNA, ZEE, Firstpost, Hindu BusinessLine, Sakal Times, Democracy News Live.
